Psychotherapy New York: Understanding Your Struggle
You feel stuck, unable to really connect with people or the world around you. It's like your own worries and fears are building a wall that keeps you from the life you want.
You can’t find a way out of this mess inside your head. Some days, you can't stop your thoughts from racing; other times, you just feel numb, like you’re just going through the motions without anyone noticing you.
You doubt yourself, feeling like you’re never good enough. These feelings mess up how you see yourself and everything around you, keeping you stuck in the same old negative stories and stopping you from enjoying the now.
A New Beginning: Psychotherapy New York
But what if things could be different? Imagine waking up feeling clear-headed, really being in the moment, and actually feeling close to the people in your life.
You wonder what it would be like to face problems without that immediate fear or to feel solid and sure, no matter what's happening around you. Sometimes, you can almost see a different life where you’re open to change, full of new ideas, and able to say what's on your mind.
Psychotherapy New York: Reclaiming Your Life
Thinking about confidently moving through each day and connecting with others seems far off, but part of you believes it's possible. Virtual psychotherapy offers flexibility and convenience, allowing you to attend sessions from the comfort of your own home or any private space, eliminating the need for travel. It's ideal for those with busy schedules or who may be traveling, ensuring consistency in therapy. Over the years, I’ve developed ways to create a safe, intimate, and supportive environment through virtual sessions.
Research shows that virtual therapy is as effective as in-person therapy for many mental health conditions. Studies published in The Lancet and American Journal of Psychiatry confirm that virtual therapy provides comparable outcomes in treating issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
With virtual therapy, you can receive the same professional care, connection, and confidentiality, with the added benefit of flexibility.

EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy)
EFT is based on the science of attachment and emotion, helping individuals and couples understand and strengthen emotional bonds. In practice, it involves identifying and transforming negative interaction patterns and fostering a secure, supportive connection. It works because it addresses core emotional needs, promoting healing and resilience in relationships.EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a structured therapy that helps individuals process traumatic memories by using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements. It allows the brain to reprocess difficult experiences, reducing their emotional charge and integrating them into a healthier perspective. It works because it activates the brain's natural healing processes, breaking the cycle of distress tied to past events.FLASH
FLASH is a gentle and rapid technique derived from EMDR, designed to process trauma without the need to delve into painful memories directly. In practice, it focuses on brief, positive distractions while targeting distressing feelings in the background. It works because it engages the brain’s adaptive processing abilities, making it effective for quick and tolerable relief.IFS (Internal Family Systems)
IFS is based on the idea that the mind is made up of distinct “parts,” each with its own perspective, emotions, and roles. In practice, it helps clients connect with these parts compassionately and work with them to resolve inner conflicts. It works because it fosters self-leadership and harmony, promoting healing from the inside out.Polyvagal Therapy
Polyvagal Therapy is based on Polyvagal Theory, which explains how the nervous system regulates safety, connection, and stress responses. In practice, it uses techniques to help clients identify and shift between nervous system states, fostering a sense of safety and calm. It works because it targets the biological foundations of stress and trauma, enabling deeper emotional regulation and healing.

Many people feel immediate relief just from being seen and understood in a safe space. Internal shifts often happen early on, helping you gain new insights and perspectives, while changes from these shifts may take longer to show up in daily life. Some approaches, like EMDR or FLASH, can bring noticeable shifts quickly, while deeper exploration may take more time. Everyone moves at their own pace, and we’ll regularly check in to ensure the process aligns with where you are and where you want to go.

My fee is $300 per hour, which reflects my 30 years of experience and advanced training in a range of therapeutic models, including EFT, EMDR, FLASH, IFS, and Polyvagal Therapy. While some therapists may charge lower fees, my expertise allows me to offer a highly individualized and integrative approach, tailored to your unique needs. This level of experience and specialization ensures you’re receiving the highest quality of care.

I don’t take insurance for two main reasons. First, reimbursement rates for in-network providers are not aligned with the customary fees in the NYC area for a psychotherapist with my level of experience and expertise. Over 30 years, I’ve developed specialized skills in advanced modalities such as EFT, EMDR, FLASH, IFS, and Polyvagal Therapy. These approaches allow me to address a wide range of issues, including trauma, addictions, emotional regulation, and personal growth, with a uniquely integrative and effective style of care.
Second, in-network insurance often imposes limitations that require clinicians to follow diagnosis-specific treatments and formulaic protocols. These restrictions are not in alignment with my approach, which combines evidence-based, cutting-edge techniques to tailor therapy to your specific needs. Such limitations can also restrict the type, length, and flexibility of therapy, making it harder to provide the personalized care that is central to my practice.
As an out-of-network provider, I can offer a therapeutic experience that is fully customized to your goals and circumstances, without being constrained by insurance company rules. Many clients with out-of-network benefits are able to receive partial reimbursement for my services. I’m happy to provide a detailed invoice (a superbill) to help you navigate the reimbursement process with your insurance company.
